Why You Might Want a Domain Name
By default, your Odoo instance is accessible at a webdiscode.com subdomain. If you would like a more professional web address — such as erp.yourbusiness.com or www.yourbusiness.com — you can purchase a domain name directly from your hosting control panel.
How to Search for a Domain
- Log in to your hosting control panel at host.webdiscode.com.
- Look for the Domain Name card on your dashboard or navigate to the Domains section.
- Type the name you want to register — enter just the name without any extension (for example, type mybusiness, not mybusiness.com).
- Click Search to see what is available.
Choosing an Extension

- .com — the most recognized extension worldwide
- .net — a great alternative if your preferred .com is taken
- .ca — ideal for Canadian businesses
- .org — commonly used by nonprofits and organizations

Paying for Your Domain
Domain purchases are paid from your account credit balance. If you do not have sufficient credit, you will be prompted to add funds before completing the order.
How Your Domain Connects to Odoo
Once your domain is registered, the www version (for example, www.yourbusiness.com) can be connected to your Odoo instance. Please note that root domains (the version without www, such as yourbusiness.com) are not recommended for pointing directly to your Odoo instance, as this can interfere with your domain's email settings.
After connecting your domain, DNS changes can take anywhere from a few minutes to 48 hours to fully propagate worldwide — this is a normal part of how domain systems work.
