What Connecting a Custom Domain Does
By default, your Odoo instance is accessible at a webdiscode.com address. Connecting a custom domain lets you use your own web address instead — for example, www.yourbusiness.com — so your instance looks and feels like a fully branded part of your business.
Important: Use a Subdomain, Not a Root Domain
You must point a subdomain to your Odoo instance — the most common choice is www.yourdomain.com. Pointing a root domain (the version without any prefix, such as yourdomain.com by itself) is not supported and can break your domain's email delivery.
If you are unsure what this means, www.yourdomain.com is always a safe and recommended choice.
Step 1 — Create a CNAME Record with Your Domain Registrar
Log in to wherever you registered your domain (the company you bought it from) and add a DNS record with the following details:
- Type: CNAME
- Host / Name: www
- Value / Points to: cowboy.webdiscode.com
The exact field names may vary slightly depending on your registrar, but you are looking for the DNS management section. Save the record once you have entered it.
Step 2 — Verify and Connect in Your Control Panel
- Log in to your hosting control panel at host.webdiscode.com.
- Navigate to your Odoo service and look for the Custom Domain card.
- Enter your subdomain (for example, www.yourdomain.com) and click Verify & Connect.
- Our system will check that your DNS record is set up correctly and then activate the connection.
SSL Certificate
Once your domain is connected, an SSL certificate (the padlock icon in your browser) will be issued automatically within a few minutes. You do not need to purchase or configure anything separately — it is handled for you.
Removing a Custom Domain
If you ever need to remove or change a connected custom domain, please open a support ticket and our team will take care of it for you.
Need Help?
